July visit to Langham Dome

Posted by John
· August 7, 2018

Watton Society visited a “Little Building with a Big Story” and what a story. Langham
Dome’s story began in 1918 with the birth of the air force through to being the closest
British base to Berlin WWII. Langham Dome is only a small part of what was an important
air base, covering the North Sea Coastal Defences. The presentation was very interesting,
extremely funny at times, and very well done. A most worthwhile visit. Our next meeting
is at 7.45pm on Wednesday 19th September, back at the Watton Christian Community
Centre when the speaker will be Mark Reynolds “My life in Cartoons”. Look forward to
seeing you all then.
