The members of Watton Society queued up on the landing jetty with nervous apprehension, ready to
board the ship. The Titanic? As it turned out, we should not have been nervous. The evenings talk
by Genista Davidson was about Ocean Liners especially those of the Art Deco period. The history
of Cunard ships specifically, the different class of travel, dressing for the occasion i.e. ball gowns
and dinner suits, and quality of service. So after a very stable crossing and a most enjoyable trip it
was bon voyage and hope to see you all at the next meeting which will be on
Wednesday 21st March at 7.45pm in the Christian Community Centre. Watton, when the speaker
will be Simon White talking about “Gardens of East Anglia”
